EVENT Saturday June 22, 2019  noon-midnight

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Friday March 1, 2019, midnight
Selected artists will be notified by: Monday April 1, 2019

The Junction Summer Solstice is a community festival that celebrates the first day of summer and the longest day of the year. With a goal to celebrate local talent in a family friendly environment, we are looking for original music, theatre, comedy, and eclectic performance acts to fill the stage and the street.

With a street-wide closure along Dundas St West, we are looking for small unique acts with minimal tech requirements, interested in activating the street and creating your own stage. Let’s make the most of the longest day of sunlight! There will also be a main stage with limited spots, and pop-up spaces along Dundas St. W. throughout the festival.

To apply, please fill out this form. Preference will be given to those with a live recording of their performance act (YouTube or Vimeo link), and to those who perform original material.

Our performance jury is made up of community member volunteers and submissions are rated on the following:

1) Expression: unique/original content, or interpretation of existing work
2) Technique: skilled in chosen performance area (sound, theatre, performance, comedy)
3) Presentation: sample video is high quality and demonstrates performers skill
4) Audience engagement: sample video demonstrates audience engagement or appeal

We thank all applicants for their submissions, however only those selected will be contacted.
